PROJECTS: Gallery in the Sky
LOCATION: New York, NY
SIZE: 2,100 sq ft
SCOPE: Architecture, Interior Design, Custom Art Lighting
STATUS: In Progress
DESCRIPTION:
A private gallery space and a small guest suite for a collector of bronze art pieces in Manhattan on a floor plate with three exposures; the goal lies in creating a gallery that will hold at least 168 pieces of varying size while maximizing the panoramic views of Central Park and the Hudson River—a gallery in the sky. Building on a formal nature of bronze armatures, we “poured” in a casework system that is portable, adjustable, and individually illuminated by museum quality fiber optic lighting. The gallery portion of the space creates a flowing path with pockets of spaces to study the pieces individually.
